My Pets Are My World
Warm welcome, everyone! I’m Alyssa Westwood from Sussex. As a veterinarian, the majority of my world revolves around kennels and canines. I’m also a proud parent to two Jack Russell Terriers — Luna and Lola. I absolutely adore the two, who reflect their fondness for me in kind.
My typical day starts with a morning stroll accompanied by my pookies. When at home, my quality time is divided between playtime with my pups and researching on pooches’ health. Integrating their care into my day-to-day life brings me immense joy. It persuades me to contemplate the reality of our existence, everyday.

I heard the unfortunate cries of two abandoned pups while I was heading home after uni. I could not explain the whirlwind of emotions, but it was as if the pair was calling on me for adoption. Initially, the pups were reluctant to come near me, but soon enough, I could sense a palpable bond developing between us. Gosh, I had never thought that a serendipitous encounter would actually become the best part of my life!Lola is an absolute bundle of energy. As for Luna, she adores her toy Toto, which she loves carrying around between her jaws — the inspiration behind this blog’s name.
As a veterinarian myself, I always make sure they get the best care and love; a sentiment every pet parent would relate to. Besides, some aspects like grooming and nutrition are breed specific. So, it is important to research about the breed and required maintenance before getting one. While I’m not against getting your puppy from a professional breeder, I am a big advocate for adopting them from shelters.These are all topics that are close to my heart, and I plan to cover them in this blog.
